Wrestlemania and such

ok, I don't know how all this works, but WWF (im old school) launched their website where you get all the PPV's and can watch old matches for like $10 a month...WrestleMania on PPV is like $50...so is the plan that with people paying $120 a month they are capturing a market that ordinarily wouldn't spend anything on PPV and this offsets the people who buy most/all PPVs?

I don't fully understand the model, but I think they figure the $120 a year they are getting out of the 'casual' type fan, but I think if this was the plan, why not keep with the $10 per month (or whatever it is, that might have just been the promo) and with that offer the old content and 1 or 2 'low grade' PPV's as I think they have like 1 or more a month per 6 month subscription and then a discount on the 'big' events like WrestleMania, as I think there are 2 or 3 big events (Summer Slam comes to mind and I don't watch wrestling)...

I don't know how many folks here are into Pro Wrestling, but I have seen at least 10 posts on facebook from my friends (not a friend *****, I have like 200 friends)...of those, I know 2 of them are pretty into it, as in go to events and such, heck one of the guys met his wife at WrestleMania...

I wont be watching, I don't watch wrestling, I know some of the names but none of the storylines and stuff...I watched when I was under 10 back in the day with Junk Yard Dog, British Bulldogs, Hacksaw Jim, and Jake the Snake, but left before The Bushwackers and Ultimate Warrior...

I figure some of you have to be excited for tonight

I have followed wrestling all of my life, but would not watch it at all today if it were not for DVR. I am not sure if the $10 a month is a promotional price but it says you get it for that for the first 6 months and I am sure they are just trying to get as many people signed up as possible. I will not be subscribing but will look at the results on one of the wrestling websites and will check out Raw tomorrow night. I think that I have only bought one pay per view in my life and have never made it to an actual show.

ive never paid for a UFC PPV but I watch quite a few...just need to know where to go

I follow wrestling and have for most of my life,, ill be going to a live wwe show this saturday here by my hometown, and about the wwe network I dont plan on getting it,, the reason being is for example, tonight was wrestlemania,, about an hour after its done ill just go to piratebay and download it

Getting the WWE Network is totally worth it for any fan. $10 a month for the entire library of WWF, WCW and ECW. Plus a PPV a month. I havent kept up on the current storylines the past couple years but I never miss a Wrestlemania. I checked out WWE Network yesterday and it was awesome to share the feuds and matches I enjoyed as a kid with younger fans. Especially Bash At The Beach 1996 when Hogan turned heel. And the Hell In A Cell where Taker threw Mankind 20-25 ft off the top of the cage through the announce table. Those matches are a good enough reason for me to order it.

I used to like WWE/WWF, back when Stone Cold was there. Don't really follow it anymore but every once in a while, I'll throw in $5-10 if friends are hosting. Really, this seems like a great deal if you are a WWE guy.

If they had this for UFC, I would buy in a second (not UFC Fight Pass, which doesn't include any PPVs). But UFC and WWE have completely different business models.

in the last 3 years I think ive only had trouble getting a UFC from the couch for free once...and when Carano fought Cyborg I drove to a friends house to watch since he had Showtime...

I would say im a fan of the UFC but I don't need to see every fight, some are more compelling than others, its like when I go to concerts, I don't always stay for the 'headliner' because often im there for the openers at least at 'big' shows, when Lucero cruises though campus they are the headliner, but I still show up for the openers that way I can be right next to the stage for the act I want to see
