Will Alabama be #1 at the end of the day?

It is a possibility......just depends if Texas and/or LSU jumps us. We didn't look too impressive vs. Kentucky our last time out, so I am guessing we stay at #2. Not that it matters this early in the season, but it's nice to be in the conversation for #1 for a change op:

Ya probably should but I really hate that #1 ranking, too big a target on ya. But it really depends on what Lsu and Mizzou do.

me and some co-workers argued about this Friday (damn Alabama fans cannot talk any since into them) but I gave couple random thoughts:

Texas beats OK they might jump to #1
LSU beats FL and OK loses they might jump to #1
But it looks like LSU is probably going to lose.

Teams that could be #1 by the end of the weekend:

Bama
Texas
Penn State

No way Penn State does, that would be much too big a jump. If LSU comes back and wins, they are a possibility as is Texas (obviously). But there is no way, no how Penn State will be #1 at the end of the week, especially since a team ranked above them beat the #1 ranked team in the country

You're right that it doesn't matter at this point but it makes for good conversation unless your team is 4-3. (However if you are #1 and then lose the rest of your games, a few 'Bama fans I know will still insist they were a #1 team in '08.)

What really matters is that 'Bama controls their on destiny at this point. This year isn't shaping up to have more than two undefeateds. In fact, there will probably be no undefeateds.

I just hope for your sake that Saban doesn't jump ship to become Auburn's new OC until after you're bowl game.

Those silly voters can fool you But yea right now I feel either Bama or Texas deserves to be #1 both are solid teams. The only thng that scares me is that Bama will not go unbeaten this year. I think that one of the teams from Mississippi will beat them. LSU, Tenn, Awburn (the good ol' boys team) will go down but it will be a upset by someone that you do not expect that defeats alabama.

Say, did I ever tell you about the time we were the 3rd best team in the country in 2000? Yep, a grand time that was :doh:

The #1 thing I am concerned about with right now is seeing us winning the SEC West. If this happens, then no telling what will happen afterwards. The fun thing is, I think our next two teams will be better than this one :dance:

The reason I say one of the teams for miss. will beat them is that Alabama will let their guard down gearing up for a bigger game. LSU and Tenn. I think they will play their heart out for those two. But yea enjoy the good year bro and next year is going to be scarry!

Penn State will move up a couple, but not #1. And voters HATE Penn State. I don't want to be #1 right now anyway, let someone else have it and lose.
