unreal price on this thing...I didn't think many mirror gold base non rcs sold for more than $10...

if I had the card, I likely would have had it with a $5 BIN...

if you have one, you might want to list it if you got it 'cheap'...I had no idea that modern non rookie non 1/1 parallels went that high...

probably a number collector or the ebay 1/1 type thing. Or set collectors fighting for it .

i wouldn't think a serial number would have that much of an impact...I know what it does on some cards, but that much?...a Peyton Manning Gold Auto /10 went for that...

Sometimes when I really really want a card I'll bid an insane amount, usually around 5x what the card is worth. I always just hope nobody else has the same idea and I end up winning at that price, but I'm sure it'll happen one of these days. Maybe this was one of those times for 2 like minded people.

I should also mention that I usually only do this for PC cards that are fairly rare, or that I think might not pop up again for a while.

Really think it was a player collector or an S/N collector of select players . I just looked on COMC didn't see any real big names for this yr other than Tomlinson and he's listed at 10.25 . So it's just one of those fluke sales someone looking for that card for a long time like Mike said didn't want to lose it .

usually the crazy bids come via a snipe though, don't usually see people going to battle with 3 days left on an item
