How would you like to pay over a half a million dollars for a player's last touchdown pass ball, just to have that player announce their un-retirement less than 24 hours later? Well, that's exactly what happened to an unknown fan(?) earlier this week.
The ball that Tom Brady threw to Mike Evans in the super bowl was sold in a Lelands auction for $518,628, no doubt because the folks bidding on it thought that would have been the last touchdown pass ever thrown by Tom Brady, who is widely considered to be the GOAT . Then, less than 24 hours later, Tom Brady did this...
I, personally, almost feel sorry for this fan, or collector, or investor, or whatever they bought the ball for...but then I think if this person could spend over a half-million dollars on a football, regardless of where it came from, they'll be just fine!

These past two months I’ve realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands. That time will come. But it’s not now. I love my teammates, and I love my supportive family. They make it all possible. I’m coming back for my 23rd season in Tampa. Unfinished business LFG
