Bench Warmer
My New Year's resolution was to finally start taking up TTM autographing. I had planned out my send off dates around college so it wouldn't cause a problem, but still have a good send out amount.

Jan - 40 (1/9/10)
Mar - 50 (3/13/10)
May - 50 (5/22/10)
July - 50 (7/6/10)
Aug - 50 (8/12/10)
Aug - 8 (8/25/10)
Dec - 52 (12/17/10)

Total Sent: 302 (resends not counted in the 300 except for Ryne Sandberg)

If you would like any addresses, feel free to ask and I will help you out. I plan to include something I'm gonna call "Mr. T's comment" to give some details/opinions on players I get back. These will be baseball unless I change my mind sometime in the future. Here's the stats that I will update when I know of any changes.

Player return #1, and not even a player!

1/15/10:
Sparky Anderson (6 days) - 1/1 in pen (88 Topps)

Mr. T's comment: I wanted to catch Sparky before he truly stopped signing. He has gone down to one per send in now, but being 75 I totally understand. Great start to my collection and I urge not to wait to send to him.

wow that is pretty damn nice bro. You should frame your work! I mean all this effort, you might as well get it on a wall.

This should be a great thread and depedning on your sucess, I might be asking for a few od the addy's.

Good luck!!!

2 more came in today back at home!

1/16/10:
Frank Castillo (7 days) - 3/3 (93 Topps, 96 Collector's Choice, 98 Pacific Online)

Mr. T's comment: I had sent out a good portion to former Tigers, including Mr. Castillo. He was with the Tigers for a short period of time in 1998, going 3 -9, but was part of the 2004 Boston Red Sox team so at least he bounced back! If you are looking for a guy with a WS ring, I suggest to start with him.

Bobby Doerr (7 days) - 1/1 (07 Topps DS insert)

Mr. T's comment: Doerr is a HOFer and one of the best TTMer's out there. He is a great person for TTM beginners to start out with, and is highly recommended!

I got word from the folks back at home that I have "like a dozen" envelopes come back today. I didn't want to make them open the all, but I know what one of them is. ;)

Ralph Houk - 1/1 (10 days)

Mr. T's Comment: Another one of my old timers came through, and this former Yankees manager is another TTM great (like Doerr from Saturday). I chose the only card I could find of him, a 2002 Topps 52 Reprint card. I hope it turned out nicely.

I will update you on the rest of these Thursday night, STAY TUNED!

1/19/10 continued...

Bobby Bonilla - 3/4 (one MIA)
Mark Grace - 2/3
Ben Grieve - 2/4
Jon Lieber - 4/4
Bobby Thomson - 2/2
Woody Williams - 4/4

Mr. T's Comment (condensed):

- Bonilla's unique signature looks great on what I sent him.
- Grace was an under the radar star I grew up to. I'm glad to see this one come back.
- Grieve's career downfall I blame on the trade to Tampa. He would still be a star if it wasn't for it, but now he has time for TTM.
- Lieber is interesting, but a nice return from a Grace teammate.
- Thomson signed two of his "Shot Heard Around the World" cards, and I love it!
- Williams has a very legible signature, which I like.

Just one today, but ended up being a sad one.

Lee Stevens - 4/4 (13 days)

Mr. T's comment: All four of the cards had the lower left hand corner severely bent and damaged (damage covered 3 of the 4 signed areas on the card). Stevens was remembered for coming back from a 2 year stint in Japan to be a powerhouse for the Texas Rangers (alongside Raffy, I-Rod, Gonzo, etc.). I might end up resending to him if I can find something else to send his way.

While at TigerFest (thread coming shortly), two came in today.

Fernando Vina - 4/4 (14 days)

Mr. T's Comment: Another Tiger comes through, and I'm happy he did. Know for his Brewers/Cardinals days, his Tigers career was full of injuries. I recommend you send to his workplace during the season.

Travis Lee - 4/6 (14 days)

Mr. T's Comment: Lee never hit it off numbers wise, but he was notable enough for me to send to him. Good signer for someone who recently retired.

When I was really little, I thought Travis Leee was th3 best player in the league because I saw him hit a homerun at a Phillies game. Those were the days :D

As its time to "close the door" on today, two more came in.

Jeremy Accardo - 4/4 (16 days)

Mr. T's Comment: I wanted to get Accardo before he broke out, if it happens to be 2010 I don't know. It is too late to send to his home like I did, but you might want to try him ST or c/o team this year.

Todd Jones - 4/4 (16 days)

Mr T's Comment: Yes! One of my personal favorites comes through! I sent the "fist pump" card from the 06 playoff run, so I'm happy that it came back. As a Tigers fan, I never got him in person, but now I got the team saves leader.
