SCF is dumb as hell

Why would I sell a card on that site, send it first, and wait for payment just because I dont have the required rating? That is insanely stupid, especially when Im accepting paypal. Im pretty sure paypal has buyer security. Whoever created those rules, and whoever abides or lives on those rules should be punched in the face to get a reality check. Trading? Sure, those rules are fine. Buts its not smart business when youre dealing with a protected form of payment.

I understand your argument. It's an annoying rule, but it weeds out most of the cheats. A small sacrifice for safe trading on a decent site.

I deleted the link to that site over the weekend.

In the three months or so I've been a member I got 5 warnings for absolutly nothing.

I had NEVER recieved a warning at any site i've ever posted on.

I can understand trading because you dont know if the other party will follow through. However, when you are dealing with paypal, if the other party does not follow through, you can do a chargeback. Easy, simple, fast. I dont buy on ebay and ask the seller to send first before I pay because his rating is lower than mine.

While I totally agree with you, it's probably a better practice keep the rules simple for the morons.

A large portion of members there are kids I am sure. I had a kid with 2 feedback demand I send first because I had no recent feedbacks (as I rarely trade anyways), yet I have 80 or so total feedback. When I refused and tried to cancel the transaction a 30+ pm marathon occured with the site admins just to get out of the transaction and to remove negative feedback he left because I refused to send first for a guy who had been there a month  There have been many more brutal trading experiences over there and now I flat out refuse to even bother with it.

I don't mind the site, it is decent and there are some okay discussions and such, but the trading is overly difficult and rule oriented and is flat out frustrating to attempt it. But when sites get that big and with that many members I guess erring on the side of caution is warranted. Like pretty much everything else in life, the rules aren't meant for the normal masses, they are meant for the retarded exceptions. Pretty much the entire admin crew is the old guys from SCS when it was around. All of the old SCF staff when Rima was part of it has moved out I believe. I used to really like Jay (Prophet) over there.

Nice. Now the guy is calling me out on the site for not following rules. I did not say a single thing outside of PMs on the deal, and he is basically responding to my PMs on the sale thread. I think that is against the rules.

Just reply to the thread that you understand the rules, disagree with them and wish to cancel the transaction and pm it to an admin. You will then have the 30+ pm diatribe to deal with and in a few weeks it will be resolved

We never agreed on the trade. This is the breakdown.

1. I posted 2 cards for sale.
2. He offered to buy them if I sent first.
3. I PMed him and told him that I did not like to send first. I told him all about paypal, advised him to come here and get people to vouch for me, and that I could print a label as soon as I got payment.
4. He went into something about how rules are rules and that he was going to pass.
5. I told him it was no sweat off my back and that it would be stupid of me to send first. Then I bumped my sale thread with "Both are still available."
6. He comes into my thread and tells me rules are rules and that its not bad business, its SCF rules.
7. I basically posted what I posted here.
