Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who battled the effects of a concussion last week, returned to practice on Monday and said he expects to play in Sunday's home playoff game against the San Diego Chargers.

Roethlisberger didn't practice last week. The Steelers, seeded second in the AFC, had a bye in the first round.

Roethlisberger was injured in Week 17 when he was leveled by two Cleveland Browns players simultaneously after releasing a pass, causing him to strike his head on Heinz Field's turf. The hit was similar to that in which he also received a concussion from being dropped by three Atlanta Falcons defenders in 2006.
