Like I've said in the past, the cops in Athens are dirty...

That's not what I meant.

If the punishment COULD mean jail time, you COULD get jail time.

I used those crimes as an example of small risks that you could get busted for, but stand a good chance to get away with. Like riding a scooter without a license.
Im not saying the guy should not have got in trouble. He should have got a ticket and impound his scooter. He should not have been arrested though. UGA Police will arrest you for anything and everything and it is wrong.

Hey man, if the law says you could arrested, don't be surprised when you get arrested. That's all I'm saying. Don't do **** you aren't supposed to.

Thug.

:shifty:

Seriously seems pretty damn extreme. Do cops at UGA have hard ons for football players on scooters or something

Extreme, but within his rights as a cop. Sucks for the player but whatcha gonna do? I'm sure what happened was embarassing, and he will likely get a bunch of flack from the team about it but in the end, he will pay a fine, and probably either ditch the scooter or get the special endorsement needed to ride a scooter over 50cc.

90% of cops have "Judge Dredd" syndrome. That leaves a 10% possibility that the kid got overly lippy and deserved the overreaction.
