Card Shows VS eBay, COMC, etc.

I saw this posted in a news story about collecting baseball cards. It holds true to any and all sports cards.

“The Internet is an alternative model for retailing. Consumers may be able to see nice pictures, but they are not able to see the real item, they can’t touch or examine it before the transaction.”

Remember this the next time you are at a card show (either as a vendor or customer), and you make the comment or hear the comment "I can get the same card on eBay for half the price..."

I enjoy the shows more but end up buying on Ebay more often, but not because it's cheaper really, but because of the convenience.

Most card shows have the cheap peddly crap that is a waste of time listing on eBay. eBay is usually cheaper anyway you look at it for anything you buy. It's always nice going to shows though with seeing friends, making trades, etc
