Bench Warmer
These were all the Topps cards produced of Archie during his playing career.
There is no 1977 card due to an injury he sustained the season before which lingered and almost caused his retirment. He was on IR all year. Archie played 2 years for the Vikings as well, but no cards were made of him as he was on IR one year due to a serious sickness which could have killed him, and constant injuries.
Archie's greatness was still evident in New Orleans, winning a league MVP and making 2 Pro Bowls, even though his team never finished above 8-8.
Archie was beset by bad teams, poor blocking, and injuries. The Pride of Ole Miss, and a living legend in Mississippi and Louisiana.
He is the only man with the loins strong enough to father back to back Super Bowl MVPs.
"If Archie would have played for the Dallas Cowboys, he would be in the Hall of Fame now" - Roger Staubach
and his lone non Saints Card:
