Hockey American Recession and the NHL

How much of an effect if any do you think it will take on the NHL? With most of the teams in the states and already low american ticket sales in some of the franchises do you think some of the americans that are casual patrons of the game will give up on it because of financial reasons?

All that talk brings me back to the argument that the NHL needs more teams in Canada...
