⚾️ 2023 MLB Season Games Attended by SCC Members

Went to the Bowie Baysox game tonight, and witnessed a Coby Mayo Walk off Homer. The baysox won 3-2 on a real pitchers duel where a total of 5 or 6 hits total were given up. Richmond was their opponent, AA Giants.

Stadium was 1/3 full and fireworks at the end were an awesome ending to a great game!

Not a ballgame, but went with my family to Grant's Farm in STL today, which is owned by the Busch family of Brewery fame! Lots of Cardinals overlap, and a very cool area that looks like Germany, it's Little Bavaria right in Missouri!!




Some historic beer wagons from the past, pulled by the Clydesdales!



These wagons are especially cool, since they have been pulled around Busch Stadium before Opening Day and other significant games. Whitey Herzog once told me a story about Game 1 of the 1982 World Series being delayed 15 minutes "because one of the Clydesdales went potty on first base when they brought the wagon around before the game!"

Mr. Busch himself, who started it all!!

7/2/23 Pirates vs. Brewers for a losing effort at PNC Park. Enjoyable game from the right outfield seats. No homeruns to our section, but great view of the game.

Just got home from today’s Reds at Dodgers afternoon game. Elly de la Cruz went 4-3 with a mammoth HR. James Outman stole a HR just in front of me, as I was sitting on the first row in right center field. I didn’t realize how much Kike Hernández is loved in LA. Big ovation every time he came to the plate. Cinci won 9-0.

I just remember the huge fly ball coming right in my direction, but I knew it was going to be short of my seat. Those guys in the picture were drinking heavily so I thought there was a good chance they wouldn’t catch the ball…., so I was ready for the bounce. Then out of nowhere here comes Outman and snags the ball.
