NASCAR driver Michael Waltrip was ticketed for failure to yield after a collision with a motorcycle Wednesday night in Mooresville, N.C., according to WCNC-TV.
A police report stated Waltrip passed a field sobriety test at the scene of the accident. Waltrip was given a breathalyzer test and had a .06 blood-alcohol level, which is under the North Carolina legal limit of .08.
Waltrip was making a U-turn when his Lexus collided with a Harley Davidson motorcycle. The motorcyclist was treated at Lake Norman Regional Center., but his injuries have not been released. Waltrip was not injured.
Waltrip, 46, is the owner of Michael Waltrip Racing and drives the No. 55 Toyota in the Sprint Cup Series. This is the second time in two years he has been involved in an accident.
The North Carolina Highway Patrol charged him with reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident in 2007, but those charges were later dismissed.
