After being black-balled by the NHL for more than 8 seasons, because of a contract dispute with the Sabres, he finally got a job coaching the Islanders. Some feel it may have been racially motivated, but that will never be proven. The guy was coach of the year for goodness sakes, and then he couldn't get a job for 8 years. Seems fishy to me? Seems odd they would fire him now, and not at the end of the season, so I suppose there is more to the story than what's being reported.

He was a good coach, the team has had problems for a while though, I dont think its his fault they havent been succeeding.
