damn good college QBs can generate points, no matter how bad the rest of their team is see Eli Manning.

And we had a pretty good (though not spectacular) offense for the most part his senior season. It fell apart towards the end after the starting center went down and he had ZERO protection.
Also, comparing Eli Manning to Brodie Croyle makes no sense....you just compared a first round draft pick to a third rounder, so of course Eli was viewed as better

your offense was so bad his junior year it was painful. That defense was so good, and if their offense was worth a crap they would have been a power. You cannot tell me that was not the truth.

His senior year we went 10-2, only losses were to LSU (in overtime) and Auburn. The starting center went down late in the season and the backup was atrocious. Croyle had no time to throw the ball. The defenses were all over him because the center was giving away the snap count :doh: It was so bad, the awbern fans had "Honk if you sacked Brodie" bumper stickers :doh: :doh:

I did not remember Bama being that good record wise... I guess I am just used to them being one of the lesser teams in the Conference...
I heard they are going to rename the Independance Bowl the Crimson Tide Independance Bowl since they play there every year.

So you are saying that Brodie Croyle helped lead a "lesser" team to a 10 win season....wouldn't that help make him a good college QB :scratch:
BTW, don't think you'll see us in the Indy Bowl for quite some time after this season:salut:

I would be willing to bet you will be in the Indy bowl next year.
Set your sites a little lower, like maybe beating what was once Northeast Louisiana University Indians but is so bad they not only changed the University name but even the mascot name.

I think I'll set my sites a little higher than that, thank you very much. After a loss that bad there is no where to go but up. And let me tell you, that loss has completely ruined our recruiting efforts and we'll be lucky to sign a class that would top Vandy's.
