might start working on 2001 eTopps set

lately ive been grabbing some of the low print run guys out of the catalog...

this week i got Eddie George /292, last week i got Curtis Martin /404, Donald Hayes /291, and Antonio Freeman /348

some guys are VERY hard to get, as they rarely surface (Brad Johnson, Junior Seau, Terrell Davis, Tony Banks who is the set SP /186) quite a few of these are listed for the Honus Wagner, but ive been picking everything up with points so far, except Tomlinson, i was stocking up on those a few years ago and had 9 when the auto was announced and it went from $40 to $70, so now i have 2...but its back to $20...

its a HUGE set, 147 card, last sale value for each card $1705.75...

:think: maybe if Ryan Howard gets 3HR, leads the NL in HR, RBI, and wins MVP...then id like 150 points and could get quite a few out of the catalog for next to nothing

Sounds like a big challenge. I think you can do it, but its going to take some major dealing on your part if you don't want to spend the cash. How many cards do you have from the set?

maybe a dozen?...not many at all...LT, Brees, Vick, those listed above, and a few others

19 points left...i could turn out the one i got today for 16 points, so it would be a 3 point flip :think: not sure...ive flipped out cards for 1 point profit before

those reflections rarely show up in lots, and im not going to pay $1 per card to get them out of a store :snooty: i know the market, and there isnt much of one, hence starting in on that...

wait til next wednesday 10pm eastern and take a shot at the catalog...im sure its already very picked over...ive been trying to get that damn 14 point Bill Clinton, as ive got 4 of the 'series 1' presidents out of the catalog...need Clinton and someone else, id have to look and see, but i have the JFK and Ronny, Bush, and Ike...

catalog rotates between 2p and 10p on wednesdays, best bet is to get there within 10 minutes of launch and try to land something that is over $1 in 'value' per point...

if you want to maximize your points, you can either try to be the quickest on the presidents, or go into football and scroll down and try to pop a Zach Thomas 2001...someone is buying those up on CT, i popped one for 12 points while back and sold it for $22...

most of the 'newer' stuff (2005-2007) is about $1 per point, some is $0.50 per point, so just pay attention...if you had more points id tell you to go into merch and get a box of something, but 15 points isnt going to get you much
