It's amazing to me when professional athletes who have made millions of dollars go bankrupt. It just seems like they must be stupid.

If it is an LLC, he should be good personally.

I believe he is personally filing bankruptcy so he doesn't have to pay the debt service on his LLC investments. He probably signed personal guarantees for all of the loans.
