LeBron James will not be apologizing to Oklahoma City Thunder center Kendrick Perkins for tweeting about Blake Griffin's dunk over Perkins last week. And while he's at it, he's tired of getting blamed for things that he doesn't feel are his fault.

"I would never apologize about anything like that when I'm connecting to my fans," James said of Perkins telling Yahoo! Sports on Wednesday that he was upset with the Heat forward's public reaction to Griffin's dunk.

You could be watching cartoons with your kids and you don't like it, you say, 'Blame it on LeBron.' If you go to the grocery store and they don't have the milk that you like, you just say, 'It's LeBron's fault.'

Earlier Wednesday, Perkins said he was upset that James had sent out a tweet to his 3.5 million followers about Griffin's play.

"Dunk of the Year! @blakegriffin just dunked on Kendrick Perkins so hard!!! Wow! I guess I'm No. 2 now. Move over #6," James tweeted on Jan. 30 shortly after Griffin's soaring jam.

"Did I call him out? I mean, did you read the tweet? Did I call him out? I can see why he felt embarrassed. I don't think I was the only one to react to the unbelievable play by Blake and that's what it was all about," James said after the Miami Heat's 102-89 loss to the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night.

"Now, if Kendrick Perkins dunked on somebody like that on the other end, I would have done the same thing," James said. "If Perkins dunked on Blake Griffin or DeAndre Jordan or whatever the case may be, it would be the same thing. That's just my love for the game and connecting with my fans."

The highlight quickly went viral with numerous other NBA players commenting about it on Twitter. But James' tweet upset Perkins.

"You don't see Kobe [Bryant] tweeting," Perkins told Yahoo! Sports. "You don't see Michael Jordan tweeting. If you're an elite player, plays like that don't excite you.

"At the end of the day, the guys who are playing for the right reasons who are trying to win championships are not worrying about one play. They also are not tweeting about themselves talking about going down to No. 2," Perkins added, according to the report. "I just feel [James] is always looking for attention and he wants the world to like him."

James also referenced Indiana Pacers president Larry Bird telling Grantland.com's Bill Simmons on "The B.S. Report" that, while James is the league's best player, Bird would prefer to play with Bryant.

"It's simple, [Kobe] has five rings and I have none, so it's easy to say that," James said. "If I had five rings and Kobe had none, it'd probably be the other way around.

"I'm an easy target; if someone wants to get a point across -- just throw LeBron's name in there," James said. "You could be watching cartoons with your kids and you don't like it, you say, 'Blame it on LeBron.' If you go to the grocery store and they don't have the milk that you like, you just say, 'It's LeBron's fault.' "

And this sounds like a mature adult to you? Sounds like someone wants a pity party. :p

To answer the question though, Perkins should just let it go.

I agree Lebron was wining too.... But does he have a point??? Seems like he's public enemy #1. :(

They didnt treat A-Rod like that when he left the Rangers... ;)

Maybe, but A-Rod isn't to baseball what Lebron is to basketball, and A-Rod SURE wasn't to the Rangers what Lebron was to the Cavs. The people of Texas didn't treat A-Rod like a king like the people of Cleveland did with Lebron.

Also, I'm not even sure it's the fact that Lebron left Cleveland that makes people dislike him. At least that's not it for me. The thing is, when is the last time you can remember a player making a huge ordeal about signing with a new team the way he did? I mean "The Decision"? Come on! Then that huge welcome to Miami party? Maybe instead of having a huge party and counting how many championships they were going to win down there in Miami he should have just kept his mouth shut, showed up, and played basketball. That's the problem I have with him. Everything about that move was extremely unprofessional and unnecessary, at least in my opinion.

The "Decision" was a dumb mistake... But even he admits that now...
But how can you blame "The Party" on him?? That blame falls on the team... So what now? He's a villain for the way he made his decision?:p

Riddle me this Mike and everyone else.....
Would ppl have negative feelings towards Lebron if he was playing for their favorite teams?

Everyone forgets things like everyone on the Heat taking less money per year.... My fav player Haslem could have signed for OVER $40 Million more had he left and signed with Dallas. Lebron, Wade, Bosh and everyone else took less money... Is that not commendable?

Not to make excuses for Lebron but he came into the league as a teenager.... I dont expect him or his peers to make the most mature decisions. :p

Honestly, I wouldn't want him on my team. Granted, he might be the best regular season player to ever play the game, that does not win championships. He choked come playoff time in Cleveland, and he did it last year with Miami. Maybe you can blame that on immaturity, and maybe he'll get past it. Until that time, again, I wouldn't want him on my team.

So you wouldn't want him unless he had a championship ring???

Well.. wheres my "both are wrong" choice Jeremy? :p

Perkins is a crybaby, and only half the US is after LeBron..

Imo, the way half of the states hate him, and they other likes or doesnt have an opinion is really so incredibly dumb.. but it generates interest. People who like him tune in to see be the best overall player in the league. The people who don't like him tune in to see the best overall player in the league lose.. its like wrestling.. there needs to be a heel/bad guy for the business to go around.. and in the NBA, the biggest player is the biggest heel.. Kobe isnt well liked everywhere either..

I wouldn't want him unless he could prove that he could play at a higher level in the playoffs than he does in the regular season.

Huh???

What if Mark Cuban felt the exact same way about Dirk? Dirk was known as a choker in the playoffs since he came into the league... Everyone knew it.... He always cooled off in the playoffs..... I wonder what would have happened if Mark thought the same way and traded him early.... ;)
