Edmonton was trying to get the 2017 Expo. The article is about that. Check out the picture and the caption below it. It's a picture of our mayor and Mark Messier who played for Edmonton for about oh...25 years, is 2nd all time in NHL history in scoring and has won 6 championships and is arguably one of the greatest players ever to play the game.

But the clown reporter here refers to him as an unidentified local person :doh:

This would be on par with say a Dallas reporter not recognizing Emmitt Smith. Dumbass.

I know it is hard for you guys to believe, but there are people who don't follow sports. It is easy to imagine him just grabbing a picture of the mayor and not being overly concerned with who was next to him. I don't follow hockey, I'd be lucky to pick Ovechkin out of a lineup.

I think a news reporter in a city should have some idea of who the local heroes of said city are, regardless of their claim to fame :secret:

This is true... I remember when I was like 4 or 5, I was talking about Michael Jordan, and the family friend who was there didn't know who MJ is..
