Hockey Jackets sign C Umberger to 4-year deal

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP)—The Columbus Blue Jackets signed center R.J. Umberger to a four-year contract Monday.

The Blue Jackets acquired Umberger and a draft pick from the Philadelphia Flyers on June 20, in exchange for two draft choices.

In three years and 228 games in the NHL, he has 49 goals and 67 assists, all with Philadelphia.

The team did not disclose financial terms.

He had a great 2nd half of the season, and a great playoff run. Nice sign by Columbus.

I agree LF, I am not a flyers fan by any means but I was really impressed with Umberger's play in the playoffs. Now maybe I can like the guy since he's out of philly
