Florida taking a very strange recruiting strategy

Can't figure this one out.......Florida is letting Miami and FSU completely dominate in-state recruiting this year, while they are taking a very nation-wide approach to their recruiting. As of now, they have all of four commitments. South Carolina has 4 and Kentucky has 2....everyone else in the SEC is ahead of them in the recruiting game right now.

Of course, it's hard to snatch top prospects away from across the country, especially when they might have another big time program luring them along. And the fact that Florida is loaded as always this year with top-flight high school prospects. Just can't figure out what they are trying to do (nor can anyone else, so it seems :lollol:). Here's hoping that this plan explodes in their faces

here is what Nick Saban did...

1. recruit South Louisiana (New Orleans and Baton Rouge) that before was raided by the Notre Dames, Florida States and other big schools

2. Go into Mississippi and take the top talent

3. Get what you can out of Texas, Alabama and around the country..

you recruit where you are strong and go from there...

LSU has had top talent since his arrival because of what he put in place.

Right now, CNS is absolutely dominating instate recruiting in what's been touted as the best high school class in Alabama since 1991 or, perhaps even ever. It wouldn't be out of the question to get 15 of the top 20 instate recruits. We are also recruiting Georiga, Florida, Tennessee, and Mississippi fairly decent, though we have had our share of success in all those states excpet Tennessee in recent years. We have also had much more success in Louisiana (which isn't saying much :lollol: ). Hell, in Shula's entire tenure there are only a handful of guys that I can even recall us recruiting there, period!

There are a few national recruits on the radar, particularly from the midwest, but he's taking care of business instate first and foremost!

Tell Nicky Saban to keep his grubby little, crimson trunk out of MY state!
