I'm sad. I wanted the Niners to win. I'm tired of people ripping on Alex Smith. He's worked hard this season and played tough. He didn't lose this tough game for the Niners today. The play calling was horrendous, and the Giants defense was stifling his receivers (the very few he has). I am hoping for the Niners to return to the playoffs next year.

There isn't much improvement needed on the defensive side, so I think the 49ers will invest in a receiving weapon to help shore up the corp. I am willing to bet they at least return to the playoffs next year.

I think just having Josh Morgan back would help. Hopefully they draft a fast receiver in the draft in April!

Definitely don't place any blame on Alex Smith. He's overachieved huge in my opinion. Aside from Davis and Gore they have no offensive threats. Crabtree couldn't catch herpes in a thai whorehouse and Kyle Williams is a poor mans Ted Ginn, who is garbage to begin with. They have a good young o-line with a ton of upside. If they re-sign their defensive free agents and bring back that group they are still the class of the NFC West.

So, Pats/Giants - who you guys got? I think it will depend on if the Pats' defense can hold the Giants. I think the Giants defense will be tough on the Pats.

I think I had 3 minor heart attacks during that game. What a game! Giant stopping Gore on 3rd and 1 when the niners had momentum in the 3rd quarter was huge. The 3rd and 15 TD bullet that Eli threw to Manningham was sick. Eli got battered today and still had a great game. If people don't think he is good now then people have no clue about foortball. Amazing win! Congrats to Niners on a great season. They have an amazing offensive line that allows Smith to make plays. They need some WRs and they will be good because their defense is great. I'm somewhat in shock. Giants v Pats Super Bowl again. WOW! Now Pats bad D has to face a real QB instead of the **** stache wearing Flacco and godboy Tebow.

The morning after - still sad. It was a great game. Could have gone either way. Just those two fumbles that killed the Niners and also not getting the fumble because of the forward motion stopped whistle.

I was going for the 9ers but Smith couldn't throw a pass in the last 2 mins . That killed them big time. Then the 2 Special team screw ups hurt as well.

For the SB going to be a good one again.

If he held onto that punt I think that game would've gone on forever. Both defenses were playing so well at that point. I can't believe the first pass by Smith to a WR was with 6 mins left in the game on 3rd down before the FG that tied the game. Eli showed a lot of toughness yesterday. I've seen him take hits but he was really beaten up and still was able to stay composed and make some great passes. I'm still shocked.
