Collectors have become accustomed to identifying and chasing the short-printed autographed Rookie Cards from Playoff Contenders and for the past four to five years it has almost become an obsession for some.

Closing in on the first full week of 2010 Contenders being out on shelves, the market has a sample size large enough now to fully analyze. Based upon our research of available single cards on the market, below is our list of believed, but unconfirmed short-prints in 2010 Contenders.

Since the definition of “SP” is all a matter of degree, we’ve divided what seems to be the toughest cards into three tiers with Tier 1 being the most difficult to pull from packs.

Tier 1 (Scarce, Extremely low print run)

not a shcoker I think a ton of people thought there were going to be a ton fo stars on the list and paid too much for their respective player instead of being patient

Don't buy that list 100% yet.

Jeremy Williams: 2 have sold & there are another 7 on ebay at the moment. Something that SP'd would have not that many on the open market for sale

Dominique Curry:Another one with 7 currently for sale & another 4 completed sales

Rusty Smith:5 completed sales & another 5 on ebay currently

Thaddeus Lewis:7 sales and 2 currently up for auction

Max Hall:16 currently for sale & 20 completed sales

Blair White:9 completed sales and 6 on currently for sale

Nothing is believable until panini releases numbers. Alot of people are going to end overpaying for hype more than fact

totally agree. there normally are not many that are craig davis rare..
People will be shocked that stars numbers will be like 400 and 300 for the variant lol

Tier 3:Brandon Banks

26 sales,and 22 for sale. That's tougher than the average auto??

I would actually say, that if 50 cards or less of a person have shown face for sale at this point... Yeah I'd say thats a low print. You have to factor in that all the no-name's that are only getting sales because of the SP factor. When you compare numbers, I would say that between 200-300 tebows and bradfords have been auctioned on ebay. I would also go out on a limb here and say 70-85% of all cases of this production have been cracked. The majority of us on these boards or any similar, are wise enough to know to sell high when we can because next season (provided there is one) most of these rookies won't even be playing in the NFL. No low print run of a bad player or non player will ever have a consistent sell base.

I will say this real quick. I was involved in or took part in watching the opening of 11 cases. 66 Boxes. I have seen 23 Bradford's (2 I pulled) and 27 Tebow's. In all those cases/boxes I didnt see a single Thaddeus Lewis.
