Baseball World Series Winner?

Hey all,

So we have Cleveland vs. NY Yankees in the ALCS and Dodgers vs. NY Mets in the NLCS. Will it be another Subway Series in New York? A rematch of the great Series in the 50s where the Yankees and then-Brooklyn Dodgers were so dominant? Does Cleveland make a splash and win it all this year?

What a surprise that you voted for the Dodgers!! In all honesty, I may change my vote, I don't know that the Yankees could beat them in the World Series, LA is just playing some great baseball right now!!

I just thought whoever came out of that LA/SD series on top was going to run the table. We’ll see though some great teams still in it!

I had the same thought but those Mets are gonna make it a series...I had to go with the Dodgers though as well.

Ok, so Dodgers are up 3-1 on the Mets, one game from going to another World Series!

Yankees and Guardians stand at 2-1, its anyone's to win at the moment, though I think its going to be the Yankees who go to the WS.

I am changing my vote, the Dodgers are playing amazing baseball at the moment!!

Its rough, no doubt. Hopefully it turns into a more competitive series, I know the Guardians are better than they have been playing!

Well, the Dodgers are definitely winning in our poll! Exciting to see a Yankees - Dodgers World Series again, first game is Friday!

A few trivia bits leading into the Series:

The Dodgers have won 7 World Series all time, and have played in 21
The Yankees have won 27 World Series all time, and have played in 40
The Dodgers last played in the World Series in 2020.
The Yankees have not made it to the World Series since 2009.
This is the first World Series these teams have faced off in since 1981 (the year I was born!)
This will be the 12th time the Dodgers and Yankees have met in the World Series.
The Yankees have won 8 of those previous 11 matchups (1941, 1947, 1949, 1952, 1953, 1956, 1977, 1978)
The Dodgers have won 3 of those previous 11 matchups (1955, 1963, 1981)
In the 40 years that those 11 World Series took place, some of the best players and managers ever to play the game were on the rosters (Mickey Mantle, Joe DiMaggio, Yogi Berra, Roy Campanella, Jackie Robinson, Sandy Koufax, Casey Stengel, et.al.) An amazing legacy, to say the very least!
