The New England Patriots and nose tackle Vince Wilfork's representatives are still talking about a contract extension.

Wilfork, who made the Pro Bowl after the 2007 season, is upset that no agreement has been reached to extend the six-year deal that ends after this season.

Patriots player personnel director Nick Caserio said Thursday the team is working every day on the matter and has had discussions with Wilfork's agent. He also said that Wilfork, one of the Patriots' defensive captains last season, is a productive player the team wants to keep.

Wilfork's salary is $800,000 this season and he could make about $2.2 million with incentives. He has said he won't let the contract issue affect his play.
