What's all this stuff about Advanced Stats?

I do! But, then again the only things I look at are at bats, hits, home runs, rbi and batting average or wins, losses, saves innings pitched strike outs and era for pitchers. Do I really need any stats beyond that?
 
I think ever since the "Money Ball" Oakland Athletics...some of the more obscure baseball metrics have become a bit more mainstream. Due to that, the trickle-down of these stats to cards doesn't really surprise me.

But, card stats have been an ever changing thing too. Here is an early example. These old cards made a big deal out of fielding stats.

 
favorite toilet set (hard, soft) favorite sleeping position,, Coke or Pepsi, Chinese or Thai food phobias...
