A league source said that Derek Fisher will likely be suspended for one game for the offensive foul that laid out Luis Scola in Wednesday's Game 2.

Kobe Bryant will likely get a flagrant foul for the elbow he threw at Ron Artest, while Artest should avoid further penalty after running across the court to get into Kobe's face. Jordan Farmar will likely start in place of Fisher if the suspension becomes official. May. 7 - 1:57 pm et

We'll wait and see how the NBA sees it. I mean there was no foul called on Kobe. Therefore the elbow was seen as a wrestle between two people trying to get the ball. During the wrestle arms are lifted and contact is made. Was the elbow on purpose or during the process of getting the ball and getting in the way? Im sure if the refs thought it was on purpose they would have blown the whistle. It looks like the refs thought it was just a tussle! Hence why Kobe didnt get called on it.
Cause I know a ref could never miss a call.....ask Samuel Dalembert.

That's why the league REVIEWS these types of plays.

One game for Fisher

Derek Fisher has been suspended for Game 3 against the Rockets for making head/shoulder contact with forward Luis Scola.

This is not a surprise and Jordan Farmar and Shannon Brown are suddenly very relevant players in Game 3. Farmar should start, while Brown will see plenty of extra run with Fisher out. Kobe Bryant received a retroactive Flagrant 1 for his elbow to Ron Artest, but will play in Game 3. May. 7 - 5:52 pm et

Ron Artest claims to have witnessed actual on-court ******, so Wednesday against Kobe and the Lakers was no biggie | The Fabulous Forum | Los Angeles Times

Ron Artest explained his ejection from last night's game against the Lakers with an, um, interesting story. He told reporters, "I understand it's the playoffs. I remember when I used to play back home in the neighborhood. There was always games like that. I remember one time, there was um, one of my friends, you know, was playing basketball and they was winning the game. It was so competitive they broke a piece of leg from a table and they threw it. It went right through his heart and he died right on the court. So I'm accustomed to playing basketball really rough."

Nice..It was so competitive they broke a piece of leg from a table and they threw it. It went right through his heart and he died right on the court.

You supporting a wackjob that tried to **** a fan a few years back?

Just to clarify, you saying he's a whack job for telling a story from his childhood?
You do know that what he said was true right? as crazy as it sounds, it's a true story. Are you calling him a wackjob for telling a story from his past? IDK you just confused me a little.

I called him a whackjob because of his outlandish statement. Hes been quoted for threatening players, eating babies (Reference back to tyson). Hes also been seen trying to wrestle fans and have trouble with management.

I dont know about you, but that doesnt sound normal to me. I dont see basketball players attacking fans everyday. When was the last time you saw that? I guess its normal in your hoodz!

How many guys do you know that play basketball and are killed over a game? Dieing on a court over a game?? Honestly, is that what basketball is about?

Its like the article about a soccer fan that killed himself over a soccer match score. Is that normal?

here it is.

Stu Jackson on assessing Kobe Bryant a flagrant foul: ``Our view was that Kobe committed a flagrant foul penalty one, that was an elbow delivered as part of the rebounding play under the basket. We reviewed it and it appeared that he made contact with the elbow to Ron Artest's chest area and upon that review, that's we deemed it to be a flagrant foul penalty 1

Now if the NBA would have called that from the get go, Ron Artest wouldn't have been ejected.
Not say the game would have been different, but It possibly could have been closer.

again guys... no personal attacks.... please....

Wasn't personal on my end, just thought he was calling a guy a whackjob for telling a true story from his past and was a little confused, so asked him to clarify. He's the one who threw in somthing insinuating i came from the hood or somthing, whatever that means. My county is so dangerous we've had like 1 ****** in the last 3 years and amazingly no park bench was involved ;)
