Scottie Reynolds, Villanova's versatile guard who led the Wildcats to the Final Four last season, has declared for the NBA draft. He does not plan, however, to hire an agent -- meaning he could return to school for his senior season.
"Scottie and I have decided that it would be smart for him to experience NBA workouts at this time," Villanova head coach Jay Wright said in a school news release. "This will enable him to assess where he fits in the draft process this year and give him a better understanding of what it takes to play at that level."
Reynolds averaged 15.2 points per game last season. He's a 6-foot-2 guard who has scored more than 40 points twice during his career and 1,620 points in three seasons.
"Coach and I have been talking about this for a couple of weeks," Reynolds said in the same news release. "We came to the decision that it would be best to put my name into the draft."
