The judge that nailed him is a total prick, he has a record for doing this, and to be honest with you guys, Vick is lucky he didn't get the full five years. As far as the state charges, they are trying to get those overturned by playing the Double Jeopardy card since state charges are usually filed before federal.

i dont think it was enough considering his partners in crime got about the same amount of time, he should have gotten a bit more since he bankrolled it. but again it is federal time, and i guess it would be considered "white collar crime" still.
we just had 3 people federally charged with bribery and they got 3-5 yrs. what they did was way less, because no one and nothing died on the count of their actions.
i hope the nfl doesn't count the time he's in jail towards his suspension. i mean he will be in jail, not like he could play than anyways, accept for a jail league.
he's broke right now but i bet he wouldn't do anything any different now that he knows how much time he has to serve

Whether or not others get less time in jail. As a dog lover and human being, I think what Michael Vick did was absolutely horrid. 23 months is not long enough, I know he had loyalty to his "brothers" with whom he grew up with and was sorta pushed into the whole thing. But he was old enough and knew better. I more then welcome as second chance because people do deserve one ( in some cases ) but 2 years isn't enough, anyone who not only bets and organizes dog fighting, but KILLS the dogs after the fights should get 3+, so they can think about what they have done.
And I would only welcome a return if he donated and spent probation time in animal shelters, human society etc, seeing what people and animals who to deal, after someone like vick has screwed up dogs.
I think celebs get off time easy all the time, I am glad he got as much as he did, but something more needs to happen. I am surprised so many of you think differently.
