The Minnesota Viking will make the playoffs because....

I decided to try and make a running contest. Every couple or few days, I will pose another playoffs question. I will give points based on your answer. The more complete of an answer, the more points you get. Stats are always nice too. Don't forget, the more you type, the more points you get for the casino. The contest will end when I run out of hypothetical questions.

The winner of the whole thing will get a nice little package of their favorite team/college/player and whatever else I feel like throwing in.

TODAYS QUESTION:

Why will the Vikings make the playoffs?

OK, here goes:

If the Vikings make the playoffs, it will be because of their interior lines, both offensive and defensive. They clearly dictate the pace of the game with their above average talent. They keep the Vikings in games with teams that arguably have more overall talent than them. They also give Tarvaris Jackson the hour he needs to complete passes to his WR's.

On offense, Hutchinson anchors the lanes by which A.D. and Taylor run. He is clearly a top-tier lineman. On D, K. Williams and co. clog the lanes and collapse the pocket. While most will cite the successful running game as the main strength of this team, the real main source of strength is in its line play.

The most obvious correlation this year is that the contending teams can block and stop the run. The Vikings are a clear example of this, despite their lack of name recognition at the flashier positions like QB, WR, etc.
