Not the best trade for the Dodgers. They gave up resources for a guy who isn't a difference-maker.
However, this trade looks like a steal compared to the Dotel-to-LA deal. Sigh.

This was a horrible trade. The dodgers gave up:
Dewitt 24 yrs old
2 minor leaguers
500k (plus picking up 2.5 mil of Lilly's contract)
in return they got:
Theriot 31 years old
Lilly 34 years old who has not been great. He did pitch ok last night though.
Dewitt is having a better season then Theriot (not by much they are pretty equal) and is 6-7 years younger. Just a dumb trade and it is part of the reason the Dodgers will end the season 10-17 games out of first. I hope I am wrong because there is nothing I love more then my Dodgers but McCourt and Ned have ruined this team.
