In case you haven’t heard, Jay Bruce has been announced as the first rookie redemption for SPx MLB 2008. Those redemptions will be good for a signed SPx rookie card of Bruce. All he has done since his call up from AAA is hit about .600 and has three homers in 7 games. This guy could be the best player to come up since Albert Pujols in 2001.
North Las Vegas, NV (June 2, 2008) – Jay Bruce, the standout rookie sensation is the first player unveiled by Upper Deck for the SPX Baseball mystery rookie redemption card (card #146 or RR1). Each SPX Baseball mystery rookie redemption card will be autographed.
Upper Deck will announce every week a new rookie redemption player until all seven players have been revealed. 2008 SPX Baseball is available NOW at hobby stores (SRP $19.99). For additional information on the product, please visit The Upper Deck Company: Sports Trading Cards, Authentic Memorabilia, Sports Collectibles, & Entertainment Products.
“Jay Bruce completed an amazing debut last week with a home run and RBI single to help his team beat the Braves,” said Steven Judd, Upper Deck’s Baseball product manager. “He seems to be learning lessons from a great role model in Ken Griffey Jr. who has said Bruce reminds him of himself twenty years ago. We are excited to provide collectors with a player of this caliber who has so much upside and potential.”
