Question regarding the lockout.

Obviously teams cannot trade players for other players until the collective bargaining agreement is signed. But, can teams include players to trade for picks? How about picks for picks?

no clue how the draft works with the lockout, hopefully the labor agreement is signed by the time the draft comes around

I doubt it will. At the earliest, it will probably be signed a few weeks into summer workouts. But I could definitely see it going a few weeks into preseason when the teams start losing money off ticket sales.

My understanding is:

picks can be traded for picks

players cannot be traded for picks and no players to be named later deals

not sure on trading a drafted player for picks.
