My kid turns 7 next week. He's always asking for packs if we see them out shopping. Was thinking it might be cool to get him a box so he can rip crazy packs. I think he'd be really into it.

What the heck should I get? From where? I know nothing. He gets whatever packs because I don't think he knows much more than me.

Thanks for any advice! Have a great weekend.

Most shops carry them now. I am not into it, but did rip some back in the 90s when the craze first started. I don't have kids into it so I am not an expert, but most shops I have gone into have the packs and boxes or you can also pick them up online. My guess is that if you picked up a box of the newest ones your kid would be thrilled, or you could always contact a shop and ask what they would recommend as they have to stock what sells. I would look around online. I know the Collector Store sells them and has free shipping on orders over $100, whereas Dave and Adams sells them, but you would have to pay shipping if your order was under $200. I would search around for the best price or make some calls to shops to see what they recommend or maybe you can find a shop that carries them locally.

For my kids, they had fun ripping packs and looking at the cards. There was nothing specific they were looking for. What I found was the best was the premade packs that dealers assembled, they can get a bunch of a cards that didnt cost a lot. If you are looking for packs, whatever the cheapest option is worked for me. My son never really got too far into it, but just the idea of getting cards or opening packs was really fun for him, so it was worth a few packs here and there.
