but not :shock:Philly basically made no effort to resign him and then, when Ibanez was signed, the writing was on the wall, in a memo and #5's locker was cleaned for good

Solid signing for Tampa. They got a power bat who won't have to play the field (he's awful).
Philly obviously didn't want him back, even before signing Ibanez. Burrell and Ibanez similar defensively, Burrell is a better power-hitter, while Ibanez is the better overall-hitter.

I disagree, he was pretty average and made as many great plays as bad plays.
Big mistake in my opinion as a Phillies fan not bringing him back.

Ibanez is an upgrade over Burrell. Philadelphia will be fine. I'd be more worried about Jamie Moyer holding up for another two years.
