As about 4 hours remain until the trade deadline approaches, I will keep you up to date on all the latest deals that are going down.

I will post the confirmed trades, or even the reported trades. Feel free to post any RUMORS you may hear.

LHP Jarrod Washburn to Tigers for P's French, prospect

After being rumored to be keeping him, the veteran Washburn will be going to join the D playoff push. This gives the Tigers a nice #3 starter while getting a lefty in the rotation. Willis, Bonderman, or Robertson could come back, but unlikely.

Brewers get some relief

Brewers have acquired RHP Clauido Vargas from the Dodgers for C Vinny Rottino. This deal will likely have no impact on either team this year.

Twins veterans get their wish

SS Orlando Cabrera has joined the Twins, while the A's will get a class A SS. Good move both ways I guess. Mauer and Morneau should be happier.

ESPN reports that the Red Sox are close to acquiring C/1B Victor Martinez for Justin Masterson and 2 prospects. One prospect is un-named right now...

ESPN is reporting that Jerry Hairston Jr. of Cincy will be joining the Yankees. Nothing spectacular here.

Two more deals, not much known yet

I'm hearing on ESPN chat that these 2 deals are done:

Nationals have traded LHP Joe Biemel to the Rockies.

Braves swap 1B Casey Kotchman for 1B Adam LaRoche.

Another unconfirmed deal

I'm also hearing in the ESPN chat that 3B Scott Rolen has been dealt to the Cincinnati Reds. I have no idea who Toronto gets out of this, but the Reds are idiots for taking his contract.

I'm not hearing who, but a deal that has been discussed. Good move for the fish.

I haven't heard an official report on the Biemel deal, just that it got done.

According to FOXSports.com, the Blue Jays will receive infielders Edwin Encarnacion and Yonder Alonso from the Reds for third baseman Scott Rolen.

It'd be a surprisingly nice haul for the Jays. Alonso was a first-round pick just a year ago and Encarnacion is a full eight years younger than Rolen.
