There is no color change besides the silver ink But my guess is its from a 2001 jersey since its an old style jersey, and he autographed said jersey.

I did the same thing this week when Randy's true colors came out again.

Its cool, Polamalu got benched when he was in his 1st and 2nd year, and he turned out alright. Im sure he will be just fine once he gets over the over blown media story... Im sure he at least learned something from it...
