Lost USPS package

oh crap - I'm really not in a happy place right now. I sent a package to a guy at FCB for the group rate BGS submission. He said that he didn't want to sign for anything (so no certified or registered which I wanted to do because the contents of the box was over $2,000). I didn't insure either because of this....

well - turns out the box got lost....this is his message:

Well, I'm trying to figure out what is going on right now, I got a slab of cardboard in the mail with your sticker on it that says "received without contents." On that slab of cardboard it says "sticker fell off 4x6x8 box." I am trying to get in touch with my letter carrier to see if they know where that box is or where in the process it fell off.

I will scan exactly what arrived tonight and email you the picture.

Anyways - if you guys see any of these serial numbered cards - please let me know.....

I removed the list in case someone decides to contact the USPS and scam me....

Damn i hope you find them. Have you dealt with the guy you sent to before? It just seems fishy he didn't want to sign for the package.

Yah, I sent a package to him last time too and didn't have any problems. I'm just upset now because if you guys know this - insurance for $2,000 would have cost like $50. Insurance for $2,000 using registered mail would have only been about $15.

I hope he changes is terms after this. Anything over "said" amount should be required to have insurance because I would feel bad if something like this happened.

Seriously - he needs to change the terms. You can't freaking trust the USPS. I would have send FedEx, but again, he didn't want to sign for anything.

I called the local post office and explained the situation to them. The woman I spoke to said that she would speak with the carrier who picks up the mail from my work building. Keeping my fingers crossed.

makes me want to puke...

no clue why someone would do a group but not be willing to sign for things  anyway i think the post office has you sign for stuff with over $100 insurance on it...i had to sign for those Adrian McPhersons, just the orangish card thing, but still...

I know - that's why I didn't send it insured.

ive only had 1 package come to me 'missing contents' it was back when i was in high school, one of the radio promotions was 'guessing for gum' and the dj would do the 'im thinking of a pizza topping' or something and the winner would get a pack of gum..

we were regulars on the show for Karoke night (and wrote/recorded the theme song), so we frequently won stuff...i got 4 tickets to the Milwaukee Zoo and some other stuff for the 'guess the prize pack value'...

but yeah, not sure id send that high value of stuff to someone who wouldnt sign for it...dont care how many times id dealt with them...

at least quite a few of them are serial numbered so you could possibly trace them...maybe someone found them in the card and put them in the 'lost and found'

That really sucks. I hope this turns up for you and it all gets sorted out. If I were this guy I would feel like complete crap for putting my own convenience over a signature ahead of someone elses security.
