Hockey Kings fire Crawford

Bench Warmer
Crawford fired by Kings

The Los Angeles Kings fired head coach Marc Crawford on Tuesday, and longtime Crawford assistant Mike Johnston will be the first candidate interviewed for the job.

Crawford, who spent two seasons behind the Kings' bench, has one season remaining on his contract. He posted a 59-84-21 with the Kings and failed to get the team into the playoffs in both years.

With Crawford on the way out, Kings general manager Dean Lombardi indicated Johnston is a front-runner for the position.
