The Chiefs love the big play ability that Charles brings to the field every time he touches the ball but realize that he can wear down because of his lack of size. That's why they signed Thomas Jones this offseason to share carries with Charles. Kansas City also added RB Dexter McCluster in the second-round of the 2010 NFL Draft.

Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (shoulder) did not participate in the team's offseason workout Monday, May 17, because he underwent shoulder surgery this offseason, reports Adam Teicher, of The Kansas City Star

The Chiefs love the big play ability that Charles brings to the field every time he touches the ball but realize that he can wear down because of his lack of size. That's why they signed Thomas Jones this offseason to share carries with Charles. Kansas City also added RB Dexter McCluster in the second-round of the 2010 NFL Draft, but he's likely going to play slot receiver in addition to being a receiver out of the backfield. We expect KC to ease Charles back into the swing of things so his shoulder is not aggravated.
