Johnny pitched 8 shutout innings today, only giving up 4 hits, walking 1 and rang up 9 K's. Cueto is now 2-1 with a 1.65 ERA, and 29 K's to only 9 BB's on the season. He finally got a little bit of run support from the offense, with Bruce Almighty cranking a solo HR early, Ramon Hernandez with 3 RBI, and Phillips with a run scoring single in the later stages of the game.
Cueto has gotten the least run support of any starting pitcher in the NL so far this season, with the Reds only giving him 1.09 runs per start for him. Nice to see the offense back Johnny up today. He looked unhittable in the later frames and has really looked good so far this season. He might be the best #4 pitcher in any rotation in the bigs this year, in my opinion.
