Basketball Is BV always right?

Today I received one e-mail.

I made Thread I want to get Robert Horry cards(include base).

His list was consisted of only Base cards !!

But his list was like this

1996-97 SP Authentic Base # @~ 0.50$

First, I thought he found OPG(Online Price Guide) and made list..

Because every cards were priced like that.

Total was approx. 13$ as BV and cards would be 16-20 cards.

SO I asked what card do you want..then answer is he wants Michael Jordan Insert Card as 12-15$ !!!

I was really shocked.

But I understood as like this..ah..he would pay more shipping fee than me..
(But he didn't tell me anything about shipping fee until last time !)

SO I offered one Michael Jordan Insert Cards..BV is 5-6$ but SV would be at least 8-9$.

Then he rejected. The reason is not because he didn't like design or whatever but because BV is only 5-6$.

He told me he doesn't care about SV !

He insisted he thinks only BV !!

I heard that kinds experience from other people long long time ago..but...I could see as my eyes !!

Like that case, I asked him If I get base 100 Michael Jordan Cards, can I get one Michael Jordan Autograph...

But He didn't answer about that. After that message, he insisted he has to pay more shipping fee than me so my offer is unfair.
(Because BV of card I offered is 5$.)

If he told me first about shipping, I would agree about that but he didn't tell me anything about shipping fee. Only BV was important for him!

What do you think about this?

There's a definite line between BV & SV....it's hard to really say which one is more correct than the other. SV can be affected in so many ways per say...some examples:
1)A bad listing of an item on ebay might sell for less than a good one
2)Auctions that end on Friday, Saturday, and even Sunday Nights I've noticed sell cheaper than during the week!

BV as well can be a tough call for we all know there's many times certain cards shouldn't be worth what BV says they are. Sometimes more, sometimes less though.

It all comes down to personal preference, I'm more of a BV person myself. There's certain cards that at times you have to go by SV and that's about the only time I do.
