I hate umpires

You would think since the umpire came out and said he screwed up that they would change the call.

I think that would set a precedent that ultimately would be awful for the game. Where do you draw the line? You can overturn an umpire's judgment call, but only when it's the last out of a potentially perfect game? If you overturn this call, do you then go back through history and find other important bad calls that should be overturned and re-write history? Is every judgment call made at the mercy of the commissioner's ultimate authority? Unfortunate as it may be, I think the call has to stand.

In 1991, a panel headed by then-commissioner Fay Vincent took a look at the record book and decided to throw out 50 no-hitters for various reasons.

They have done it before. I dont see why they couldnt do it now.

I agree zeek But when the play in question was a no brainer and with the umpire admitting he was wrong to the player and media then i can't see it being an issue. Plus the play after that was the same result an out. If there was a score in the game by the other team after that happened then i would say tuff luck . But i think this could be fixed . all said they need replay for things like that .

My thought s on in game replay baseball .

If you argue a play and lose you lose and out either for that inning or the next. Since that would make teams think more before asking for a replay.
