I enjoyed reading this DeMeco Ryans blurb...

Oh man, Brad's going to be mad now. :lollol:

Too bad neither LB is on Lance Briggs' level.

Now at least you bring something to the table.

Briggs is a great LB but Cushing is having a better season so far. No if Urlacher had not been hurt I bet Briggs number would be even better then they already are. Right now Briggs has 50 tackles, 1 sack and 1 INT which is good he is on pace to have over 100 tackles which is good.

Can't get caught up in the tackle numbers too much. Just general impact at the position (closing the edge on the ball carrier, etc.). Have seen Cushing play though this year a few times, so I already know I undervalued him during the draft process. However, he's not Lance Briggs. Briggs doesn't have some 4th year player telling him what to do (and living to tell about it!). Couldn't resist the last part.

Ya Briggs is a monster! He is just one of those LB's that can just take a game over and make the other team gameplan away from him.

MLB DeMeco Ryans is coming off the best first half of his career, according to the coaches and personnel people. One reason rookie Brian Cushing is playing so well is because Ryans makes sure he's in the right spot and makes the right adjustments when necessary. Ryans is making plays in front of him, penetrating and being disruptive in the backfield.

glad to see hes doing the coaches job!

Sorry there are no Clemson players even on the same level as Cushing or Ryans.

That has nothing to do with it, but

Leroy Hill is a hell of a LB. You have to be to get starting snaps alongside another rookie on a Super Bowl team.

Also anyone who confuses Clemson and Syracuse is a complete dumbass, especially with the Paw I have as my avatar.

Also, Cushing is only getting the benefit of Demeco, who has to tell the dumbass where to line up, and of course

No one tells him were to line up your a freaking moron. He has monster stats and as for the roids funny he has never failed a **** test. Way to get a photo of a guy from his true fresman year and then line it up next to a picture of him his SR year of course he going to be bigger after 5 years at USC (he was a 5th year SR).

Then you follow it up with talking about Leroy Hill who in his best season had 84 tackles 1 sack and a PD? Thanks for proving my point that Clemson never pumps out any players worth a damn.

Sounds like he is lining him up.

Second, the NCAA or any school cannot release the results of a failed **** test (illegal or roids). The proof is in the pictures. Guys get bigger, not that big naturally.

Clemson was down in the 90s so of course there was not as many players in the NFL at the moment. Tye Hill and Gaines Adams were highly drafted but that did not work out. Of course Clemson does not have many pro LBs. The system they ran called for those 210 LB small LBs who could cover space. That will change real soon.

I am not going to get in on the moronic part of the arguement, but one thing that sticks out to me is the continuous reliance of the tackles stat. As Mike said, high tackle numbers are not necessarily a good thing. They are when you see them from d-linemen as that means the ball is not generally getting far from the line of scrimmage. Look at alot of the top 10 tacklers right now and from 2008. They are generally on teams with poor to average records. Occassionally a LBer from a better defense sneaks on the list but for the most part it is on weak teams that end up not being able to stop drives and just generally are forced to face more offensive plays and end up with higher tackle numbers. Tackles for loss, sacks, passes defended, etc. are all more relative to showing an explosive player. Cushing definitely is looking like a good prospect. Can't we leave it at that?

I would of put Hill's stats for PD, FF,Int, sacks but he did not have any :) Cushing has 2Iint's,2FF,7PD,and a safety.

Also yes I can leave it at Cushing is a good prospect but then again I am not the one that was trying to say otherwise.

I personally love Patrick Willis the most out of any linebackers out there. He hardly has any missed tackles. :)
