How Do You Calculate Value?

People selling sports cards can price them as they please depending on how valuable they think they are. When you want to buy a card at a fair price, how would you calculate it's value in order to avoid buying at a price much higher than you should?

Well for me. I look on the current prices of stores or on social media. This is what we call 'due diligence'. We do our part to know the current price so that we avoid the much higher price that some 'opportunist' should I say if you dont know the current market price of the said sports cards. It is very important you know the current price, that would tell you that the one selling sports card are honest enough.
