Bench Warmer
Pleasant surprises:
Terrance Cody (DT): BIG surprise here. Literally. This guy signed this February weighing close to 400 pounds, which caused much skepticism from the fan base about how much he could contribute. He came into fall camp weighing in at 380 and has worked his way down to a "svelte" 365. His motor has been running at a very high speed and he's looked quite fierce and surprisingly agile from reports so far. He will be giving OLs headaches trying to stop him this fall.
Drew Davis (RT): He was a whipping boy this spring, but has really shown great improvement this fall. He won't be all-world, but should be just fine at RT.
NO INJURIES: *knock on wood*....ray:
Disappointments:
William Vlachos/Taylor Pharr: Vlachos was supposed to really push for a starting job at one of the guard positions, Pharr at RT. Instead, both have been passed by true freshmen  These guys were pretty highly recruited. Vlachos looked like he was ready to take his game to the next level after a solid showing this spring. Doesn't look like either of these guys will ever see the field other than mop-up duty unless the light comes on, and soon.
Luther Davis: After Saban came to Alabama, there was a very public/dramatic recruitment of him. This Louisiana boy turned down the home team LSU Tigers to come to Alabama much to Les Miles' chagrin. He did well enough to earn a decent amount of playing time as a freshman, but has been completely off the radar this fall. He's still young, still probably learning quite a bit, but I was figuring he would be in the mix much more than he is now. Still have high hopes for him though.
