Gone But Not Forgotten in 2025

Larry Dolan, the longtime owner of the Cleveland Guardians, has died at age 94, the team announced Monday. A lifelong Cleveland resident, Dolan and his family are the longest-tenured owners in franchise history, having owned the team for the past 25 years.

In a statement, Guardians SVP of public affairs Bob DiBiasio spoke highly of Dolan's impact throughout the Cleveland community. DiBiasio confirmed that Dolan passed away Sunday.
 
Super Star and Academy Award winning actor, Gene Hackman, 95, was found dead in his New Mexico home. Also found, were his wife, classical pianist Betsy Arakawa, and their dog on Wednesday.
Hackman's legendary career included two Oscar wins, for William Friedkin's The French Connection and Clint Eastwood's Unforgiven. The actor, who died at the age of 95, also starred in the seminal films The Conversation, The Poseidon Adventure, Hoosiers, Mississippi Burning, and The Royal Tenenbaums, and had memorable supporting roles in movies like Bonnie and Clyde, Superman: The Movie, No Way Out, Get Shorty, The Birdcage, and Crimson Tide. He retired from screen acting after 2004's Welcome to Mooseport.
