Eli Manning threw three touchdown passes before leaving in the fourth quarter Sunday with a bruised heel, and the unbeaten New York Giants coasted, 27-16 over the winless and hapless Kansas City Chiefs.

Manning was 20 for 34 for 292 yards before giving way to David Carr midway through the fourth period. He seemed to be favoring his right leg moments before throwing a quick out to Hakeem Nicks, which this year's first-round draft pick turned into a 54-yard scoring play for a 27-3 lead with about 11 minutes left.

Matt Cassel threw two short touchdown passes in the final minutes for Kansas City.

Steve Smith, who has caught at least one scoring pass in three straight games for the Giants, totaled 134 yards on 11 catches, including scoring receptions of 3 and 25 yards.
