The game of stare-down that had stretched to nearly two months finally ended Tuesday evening when the Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins finally reached agreement on the much-anticipated trade of quarterback Trent Green.

Green

Miami agreed to send a fifth-round choice in the 2008 draft to the Chiefs in exchange for Green. The choice can escalate to a fourth-rounder if Green reaches certain predetermined playing time and performance levels. Miami had been offering a sixth-round choice and the Chiefs had held firm in their demands for a fourth-round pick.

The trade is contingent on Green passing a physical exam with the Dolphins, but that is considered academic. Although Green missed half of the 2006 season because of a severe concussion sustained in the opener, he has suffered no lingering effects.

Green, 36, had been deemed expendable by the Chiefs, who plan to give second-year veteran Brodie Croyle an opportunity to win the starting job.

A 14-year veteran, Green has six times thrown for 3,000-plus yards in a season and has three seasons of 4,000 or more yards. He has completed 2,143 of 3,527 passes for 26,963 yards, with 157 touchdown passes and 101 interceptions in 112 games, including 107 starts.

NICE!!! I love it for the fact that the Chiefs are peeeeeeeeeing their season down the drain. Green gives them the best oppotunity to win now and they just gave him away for next to nothing!

GO BRONCO'S !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Dolphins pretty much just POOPED on Culpepper without giving him a chance to redeem himself. They feed him to the wolves and now are throwing out the carcus..Sad and I hope they go 0-16 this season for this and the passing on Quinn..
