Bobby Petrino resigns, off to coach Arkansas

Can you blame him? The team turned their back on him, he does not have a QB, and it will be 3+ years before the team looks good again. I hope that Deangelo Hall feels better now:ban:

good for him.. wow the SEC West is going to get even more interesting.

Yes, it is. The SECW basically lost Orgeron and gained Petrino:(.
Not a good deal for LSU/Auburn/Alabama.

The good news is that he'll be working with little talent at Arky for the next two years. Maybe by that time, he'll leave for a better job??:)

Maybe he can claim that Vick finally needs a college education :shifty:

I was not totally suprised, but the timing is rather strange. So, he's just walking out, not gonna coach the rest of the season? Who is going to take his place?

whoever draws shortest straw.....

funny note, this is Joey's 6th year in league, third team, whomever they hire will be the 7th coach he has played for :ban:

I don't think this is such a bad opening for some coach next season. The Vick thing is done, and frankly a new coach is better off getting or drafting his own guy than walking into Vick. Secondly you have an owner that will spend the money. There is some key young talent on both sides of the ball and veteran leadership in a couple of spots. And lastly the NFC South is anything but a consistent division. Last 4 division winners were the last place team the year before. Based on this year expectations will not be high. IMO there are worse situations to walk into.
